Grossmünster: is one of the most important historical building of the city. This cathedral in Romanic-Gothic style dates back to 1100, and it is situated on the right shore of river Limmat.
Legend has it that the church was founded by Charles Magne, whose statue is placed on the west tower.
The church was dedicated to the patron saint of Zurich, SS Felice and Regula, and it lies where a pre-existing sacred building once stood.
It is made up of a plant with three naves, divided by rows of pillars, a façade with two towers, and a crypt underneath the choir.
The last intervention dates back to 1932, when Augusto Giacometti added the windows of the choir.
